Making the Perfect Charcuterie
Can’t we all just get along?!?
At District Boards all we offer is Charcuterie, so we understand exactly what goes into its assemblage. But before we get to the here-and-now #CharcuterieRebel, here’s a little bit of a history lesson.
Steeped in Roman and French traditions Charcuterie comes from the French words chair/char meaning flesh and cuite meaning cooked. Also, rooted in the tradition that nothing from the animal should be wasted; including the internal organs.
The French created the charcuterie board as a way to showcase their culinary skills in cooking and curing meat. The word began to be used to describe shops in 15th-century France that sold products that were made from pork. However, the traditional charcuterie board has come a long way and is becoming increasingly popular for modern-day dietary tastes.
We understand that Charcuterie is tied to tradition and there are a variety of terms like smorgasbord and cheese board to describe the combination of meats, cheese, fruit, and nuts. District Boards builds on the 3333 foundation of charcuterie but applies that to accommodate all types of dietary tastes.
The concept of the 3333 method is using 3 Meats, 3 Cheeses, 2 Fruit/1 Vegetable, and 3 Carriers this concept still applies but At District Boards, we turn charcuterie on its head so no one is left out of the party. We include more than just popular cured meats—there’s a variety of boards no matter what your dietary taste is.
Here are some of our most popular boards that you can have at your next gathering:
